In March, we hosted our Data Analytics Workshop in Hamburg. Through engaging sessions and lively discussions, we not only explored the latest technologies and trends but also identified the diverse challenges our clients face in the ever-evolving data analytics landscape.

- Comprehensive Exchange: We reviewed major topics from strategically positioning our data management expertise and data warehouse reference architecture to exploring cutting-edge BI approaches and data science insights.
- Focus on Technologies and Trends: We took a deep dive into modern data formats such as Parquet, ORC, Arrow, Apache Iceberg, and Apache Hudi, discussing their advantages for various use cases. Another major topic was the comparison between batch and streaming architectures.
- Trendy Data Platforms: Cloud platforms continue to gain significance. We explored current solutions like Snowflake, BigQuery, DuckDB, MotherDuck, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric – with a special hands-on session on using DuckDB.
- Market-Oriented Discussions: Where is the market headed? We analysed key questions, including Cloud vs. On-Premise, Open Table Formats, the separation of compute and storage, and modern orchestration solutions.
- Identifying Client Challenges: Our clients face a variety of challenges, such as adopting and integrating new technologies, navigating the complexity of technology selection, ensuring data quality and consistency, fostering a data-driven corporate culture, and adhering to security and data protection standards.
- Team Building: Beyond the technical sessions, we strengthened our team spirit over a shared dinner at L’Osteria – because innovation thrives on exchange and collaboration.
